Don’t Let One Bad Event Bring You Down

Don’t let one bad event bring you down.

Many years before, I went for an interview with one of the Big Fours. After rigorous rounds of pre-interviews, I was called in to “have a chat” with the talent acquisition manager.

The way the interview was conducted make me feel stupid, embarrass, and questioning my self-worth. In short, she told me that I have nothing to offer them. These, despite the fact that I have reached many milestones before and had demonstrated my ability to deliver successful projects and with high recommendations.

I felt dejected, and down. I went home and cried for days.

Looking back, I wish I had told myself it was only that 1 organization, 1 interview, 1 day, 1 incident that makes me feel sad about myself. I also wish I had a career coach back then to prep me well.

Never let that one incident bring you down. It was just one event. Not your entire life.

I hope this post brings you hope and comfort to those who failed in your interviews.

To your career success
